Anchored in Revelation, awake to the world

To be anchored is not to be immobile. An anchor allows a vessel to remain present in rough water without being carried off by it.

Engagement with the world is not a concession to it. Revelation addresses the conditions of human life, and those conditions must be understood before they can be answered.

This demands two literacies at once: fluency in the sources and honest attention to the present. Neglecting either produces caricature.

Moral courage, in this frame, is unspectacular. It is the willingness to name what is true when it is inconvenient to one's own side.

That is the standard this publication holds itself to, and the one by which it hopes to be measured.
